Mrs.María Sarmiento was an illustrious and rich woman from the beginning of the 16th century. She made a will donating all her money to build a college, “ College Insigne” that would be one of the first secular college in the age. Nowadays the coat of arms of the Sarmiento family and a commemorative plaque to remember us the missing college.
